Injection Therapy
Precision Relief, Accelerated Recovery
Injection therapy is an advanced, effective treatment for managing pain and promoting healing in patients with chronic or acute musculoskeletal conditions.
By delivering targeted medication directly to the affected area, injection therapy can offer relief for individuals experiencing joint pain, tendonitis, muscle injuries, and various soft tissue conditions. At PhysioHub we provide safe, tailored injection therapy to help you recover faster and improve your quality of life.
Injection Therapy services
Injection therapy involves administering anti-inflammatory medications, analgesics or natural healing agents directly into injured or inflamed joints or tissues. This targeted approach not only helps alleviate pain but also supports healing at the cellular level, reducing recovery time and helping you get back to doing what you love.
Injection therapy can benefit conditions such as:
· Joint pain (e.g., knee, shoulder, hip)
· Arthritis and osteoarthritis
· Tendonitis (e.g., tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
· Plantar fasciitis and other foot conditions
Types of Injection Therapy We Offer
At Physiohub we offer 2 types of injection. Our injection therapist offers injections at our Heaton Moor clinic.
Corticosteroid Injections
Corticosteroids are powerful anti-inflammatory agents that can quickly reduce inflammation and relieve pain. These injections are commonly used for arthritis, tendonitis, and bursitis, helping to reduce pain and improve mobility.
Hyaluronic Acid Injections
Hyaluronic acid injections are often used to treat osteoarthritis, particularly in the knee. By acting as a lubricant and shock absorber in the joint, hyaluronic acid injections help reduce pain and improve joint function.
Benefits of Injection Therapy
Targeted Pain Relief: By delivering medication directly to the problem area, injection therapy can provide more effective pain relief than oral medications.
Reduced Recovery Time: Injection therapy can help accelerate your recovery by stimulating the body’s natural healing processes.
Non-Surgical Option: For many conditions, injection therapy provides a less invasive alternative to surgery, helping you manage your condition without long recovery times.
Enhanced Mobility: By reducing inflammation and pain, injection therapy can improve your range of motion, making it easier to stay active and healthy.
How it works
Step one
Book in for a comprehensive Physiotherapy assessment using our scheduling system. We need to assess to make sure that injection therapy is a suitable treatment modality for you.
Step two
If we feel a corticosteroid injection is suitable, we will need to write to your GP to ask for the prescription.
Step three
When the GP prescription has been made, we can book you in at our Stockport clinic to have the injection performed with our injection therapist Ben Farrelly.
Following the corticosteroid injection, it is best practice to arrange at least one follow up appointment to monitor your recovery, make additional recommendations and progress your exercises. In most cases 2-3 follow ups are recommended for optimal outcome.
If we feel that an Ostenil/ Hyaluronic Acid Injection is suitable we can book you in at our Stockport clinic to be performed without GP prescription. As per the corticosteroid injection you will need a comprehensive Physiotherapy assessment beforehand.
